It seems that ladyofleithian and diet_poison have independently encountered a ship question-meme over the past week and this is all it takes to have me cave to peer pressure.

Five OTPs picked without looking at the questions:

1. Do you remember the episode/scene/chapter that you first started shipping 5?
Gee probably right around Die fish hitler die! I mean come on. I can get that Aranea and Meenah are kind of boss at any quadrant they want and why cheapen their relationship into an auspistice/auspisticized one? Personally I'm pretty sure Aranea could care about Jake on a similar level and auspisticize well but between this and lack of appreciation for the ashen quadrant I can get why I haven't seen anything on it.

2. Have you ever read a fan fiction about 2?
No? I might have read a fic (or comic?) that could have been construed that way but you know how it is.

3. Has a picture of 4 ever been your screen saver/profile picture/tumblr ID?
No, but to be fair I think I've had two shippy wallpapers and that's about it? I probably have had ships on screensavers but I don't think I've had exclusive-ship screensavers, and that's really it.
Unless you count the remote MT/HK references in my Tumblr URLs.

4. If 3 were to suddenly break up today, what would your reaction be?
???? I mean whatever I guess? As a reincarnation couple they're really great for having every kind of relationship imaginable; if they broke up forever or got completely disinterested that would be kind of heartbreaking, but as long as they hang out sometimes I would still be really happy.

5. Why is 1 so important?
Why ISN'T it important? No but hmmmm in a personal sense or in a canon sense? Personally there's stuff about liking Cinna and Katniss being the only real worldview in the books, I guess. Within canon I mean Katniss literally would have died without Cinna's help? Which isn't really a healthy basis for a relationship, but like wow he cared for her so much just from watching her volunteer and then he coaxes her into surviving the Capitol in a less literal sense.

6. Is 4 a funny ship or a serious ship?
Well I can't say that they're all serious all the time but I don't mean that I'm joking when I say I ship it, it's not a crackship or even a rarepair? They had a really good balance between funny and serious and that is exactly why I like it. (Probably leans on the serious side.)

7. Out of all your ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry?
Defining "chemistry" as "stuff in common" uh shit I wound up not really picking any ships that had lots in common did I? Nine♥Rose or Cinna♦Katniss have the most tidily-meshing personalities, but man I don't know.

8. Of all the ships, which ship has the strongest bond?
I'm gonna have to go with Link♥Zelda on this one. Like, dang. Look at all those reincarnations. You need some strong-ass bonds to do that so many fucking times.

9. How many times have you read/watched 2’s fandom?
Once? I rewatched at least one episode, I think, but as much as I would have loved to do a rewatch at the end of the season the episodes were up for streaming in phases.

10. Which ship lasted the longest?
What like in canon? Shit uh.

3. Every game in my memory, though not necessarily shippy in each one ugh talk about on-again off-again make up your mind

5. Shared panels for what less than twenty right? I'm terrible at gauging that, but in either case never canon

11. How many times, if ever, has 5 broken up?
None because they were never together.
But headcanon? They would break up a lot. Shit man Aranea's a bit flushed for each of them and sometimes they can be civil or someone else can step in, and everyone else would be really confused but they would basically feel like they understood.

12. If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 1 or 3?
OMG.
Zombies are generally hard to take out with a bow, but Katniss is definitely Just That Good and if Link isn't he has other stuff I mean bombs come on. Zelda would start out better at taking care of herself than Cinna but Cinna would adapt more quickly.
Overall I wouldn't worry about Cinna and Katniss much, and Link and Zelda are in for surviving but it might depend on the circumstances.

13. Did 4 ever have to hide their relationship for any reason?
Not really? I mean as far as I can tell by the time they realized stuff it was too late. But there sure was a lot of "What? No!" going on, wasn't there?

14. Is 5 still together?
You already asked how many times they broke up. I think that's a fairly good indicator.
In canon they were never together; in headcanon I could see them breaking up forever but it would take at least a year for the permanent one.

15. Is 1 canon?
Not explicitly but you know quadrants never are which is fair enough I guess.
But as far as I'm concerned (given stuff about how quadrants are based on existing shipping/relationship tropes and essentially exist in non-explicit forms) absolutely.

16. If all five ships were put into a couple’s Hunger Games, which couple would win?
Gee I wonder.
....No actually that is a really good question wow.

1. Nine and Rose obviously would try to get everyone out but for the most part I don't see them surviving. There are arenas that they could get out of, but they'd need Cornucopia/sponsor stuff so unless they got sponsors they'd need to directly engage the careers and I don't think that would end well :c
2. Link and Zelda would probably need sponsors. Link is great at survival (unless you want to say that, once dependent on sleep and food, he'd be terrible) but is very much an item-user; Zelda might have some magic at her hands but she'd be hesitant to use it and it might wind up being too late.
3. Korra and Tahno stand a pretty good chance! As long as there's water in the arena. Lots of water. It's the primary weapon of both of them and also what they need to drink to survive; even if they have a lot of plants to extract it from, their working power reduces as they go. In fact as they dehydrate everything Korra's firebending becomes more dangerous--to others yes but also to themselves. I also don't really think they'd be able to bring themselves to kill.
4. Katniss would probably wind up carrying Cinna metaphorically, but again I think he'd pick up quickly, but shit man against Jake "lived on a deserted island his whole life" "cremated his grandmother at a young age" English, Meenah "fuck the throne I'm moving to the moon" "forking heirs at 20 dreamyards" Peixes, and Aranea "sharp as a tack" "technically Mindfang" Serket? You're down to Katniss and the Careers, basically; it basically could go either way, depending on other stuff.

Can you tell I like thinking about AUs?

17. Has anyone ever tried to sabotage 5’s ship?
You know it's really hilarious that this happened to be the ashen ship because it's sort of defined as Aranea sabotaging Jake♠Meenah.
Otherwise they sabotage themselves because Which Quadrant Is It Anyway?

18. Which ship(s) would you defend to the death and beyond?
Weirdly there isn't much of that on this list.
Cinna♦Katniss, absolutely. Nine♥Rose, sort of? I might be more dedicated to defending Link♥Zelda if they didn't defend themselves so much. The other two I'm willing to defend or rant about but they aren't God Tier Ships or anything.
(That said of ships in general Aradia♥Vriska Dirk♦Rose most iterations of Lalondes with Eridan and/or Sollux John♦Sherlock Katniss♥Madge Finnick♦Johanna Madoka♦Sayaka Kyoko&spades/♥Sayaka numerous iterations of Homura blackrom omg I could go on.)

19. Have you ever spent hours a day going through 3’s tumblr page?
Um. That's not possible? Unless you're talking about going through appreciation blogs? Or RP blogs? The tag for them?
In any case, the answer is no; I could see myself doing similar things, but I definitely haven't in the past.

20. If an evil witch descended from the sky and told you that you had to pick one of the five ships to break up forever, which ship would you sink?
Again it depends on if it's like "will never talk to each other again" or if it's like "now they're just friends" because Nine♥Rose and Link♥Zelda would make GREAT friends and I would be really happy with them being completely nonromantic, but if they completely stopped contact I would be kind of heartbroken.
If it's a complete contact-stop probably Aranea♣(Jake/Meenah). It'd be sad, but I think all of them could move on in time.
